Fresh From The Farm: Visiting A U-Pick Flower Farm | Lifestyle

We have truly been embracing everything this Fall season has to offer. This weekend was no exception. My husband and I visited a u-pick flower farm and enjoyed the beautiful weather, picked some beautiful flowers and embraced the lovely weekend.

Get ready for lots of flower photos 🌻 there were sunflowers, dahlias, gladiolus, lilies, callas and mums. So many beautiful flowers 💐 😍

The flower farm we visited is Holland Ridge Farms. I actually visited this farm a few years ago with my sister and we went for their tulips. They are the biggest u-pick flower farm in the USA. They are quite a distance from us and it was a 1.5 hour drive. It was a long drive but it was so beautiful and scenic.

So many rows of flowers that they seemed endless! I got a lot of steps in! Once you enter the farm you grab some clippers and a container and get ready to cut some stems. There are so many rows of flowers. The farm charges admission then each stem you cut is $1. We walked around and cut some stems and just enjoyed the weather and beauty. The farm also has lots of photo props that you can pose with but I skipped out on those. They also had food trucks, a bakery, a souvenir shop, and then things for kids to do. We even ran into a family who had a boston terrier with them. Of course I had to stop and talk to them and pet the cutie 💖 I ended the adventure with a lemonade boba strawberry drink. I don’t usually drink boba but it is so good!

We picked a random restaurant on the drive home because we needed to grab some dinner. We came across the Pineville Tavern. Such delicious food 😋 we had some wine and I ordered the General Tso’s salad. It was such a lovely location. We ate outside surrounded by plants.

I was a little worried about the flower stems when we got them home. They had been sitting in the car for hours and some got a little flattened. I did try to lay them out and space them out in the cars back seat. But they went hours without water. You can see the wilting 🥺

I trimmed the stems and put them in water to see how they would do. When we came downstairs the next morning they had stiffened up and look so beautiful! I wish I could make them last forever.
