DIY gift baskets give you endless options to create a unique personalized gift. Who does not love a basket full of their favorite items or new items to try? A collection of handpicked items specifically tailored to the receiver has many benefits.

It can be hard trying to find the perfect gift so something I’ve been opting for instead are gift baskets! The most recent gift basket, which is featured in this post, was created for my moms birthday. I had so much fun putting this together and I think these make great gifts. Here are some ways you can put together a great DIY gift basket and why you should.
Why You Should Give a DIY Gift Basket
Your gift is personalized. Making a gift basket allows you to control the theme of the basket. You can stick to a theme or avoid a theme. Every item that is gifted is picked specifically for the receiver. It takes thought and time to put these together.
You control the budget. You can set a money limit or have no limit. The choice is yours. The great thing about baskets is you can set the budget and plan accordingly.
Creates less waste. This can take some thought and planning but the great thing about these basket is you have control. You can add specific items you know will get used. Gift items you know the recipient already loves or give them some samples of something new. The packaging of the basket can be as fancy or minimal as you desire. Baskets and containers are great reusable resources. You do not need to specifically use a basket.

For my gift basket I shopped at my local World Market, Lidl grocery store and the local wine and spirit store. I purchased items I knew my mom already enjoys such as tea, biscuits, honey, tea mug, chocolate, and some champagne for mimosas. The box I used was a box I had for years and it worked perfectly.

This is a super sweet idea! I haven’t put together a gift hamper in a while but I’ve been loving subscription boxes lately for this reason. You get a ton of fun goodies to try! x
