Happy New Year 🎆 I can not believe we are in 2022! Who else will be writing 2021 for the next few weeks? It happens every year. I thought it would be fitting to have my first post of the year be a weekend recap and catch up post.
It was a nice, quiet and uneventful weekend which is exactly how I like it. This past week has been a weird blur. That week between Christmas and New Years always feels like the twilight zone. This year was no exception. I am not going to go into details because I appreciate some privacy but we had some medical things (I don’t wanna call them issues because we are praying they are not and will not become a concern) but some discoveries were made this week. We are following up and will be doing whatever we need to do concerning them. They concern my husband. It has been a reminder that life is fragile and how much I love and appreciate my husband. It has been a reminder to put the phone down and take advantage of the time we have because it can be short. Even if I had 100 years with him it would feel too short, but it’s a blessing. Okay, enough of that.
The weekend started with having off work Friday. That is always a pleasure 😊 I got a gift card from my sister so I used that to buy some new measuring spoons and cups. I also purchased a mirror for my entryway that I had my eye on.

Friday was also New Year’s Eve. My husband cooked filets and roasted vegetables for dinner. It was amazing and so delicious 😋 we enjoyed a bottle of wine with dinner and watched a movie.

We rang in the New Year with a bottle of champagne and watched the ball drop in NY. We tried to watch Dick Clarke’s NYE show but it was horrible and hard to watch. Either way I got to ring in the year with the person I love the most. I even stayed up the whole night. Haha that was half the battle.
Saturday we laid around the house and had a pretty lazy day. We managed to take down all the Christmas decor and get that all packed away. Besides that we took multiple naps, watched a movie and enjoyed some more wine.

Sunday consisted of grocery shopping and prepping for the week. The house got cleaned and food got prepped. Naps again were taken. I also decided to close my Etsy shop. I opened my shop back in 2011 and stopped selling in 2020. It has been sitting there since. So I decided to close it. I enjoyed the time I had when I created and sold my crochet products but it is something I no longer do or enjoy doing. I love to crochet still but I no longer sell items.

That is my weekend recap. Lots of naps, snuggles and relaxing. It was a nice way to ring in the New Years. I look forward and feel blessed to be alive and to see another year. How was your weekend? How did you celebrate ringing in the year?

I too enjoyed my holidays at home with my loved ones.
