10 Reasons you should start a blog & Why I blog//Day 4

Even if you are unsure what a blog or blogging is I can guarantee you that you have come across one at some point. The fact that are you are reading this means you are on a blog! There are many reasons why a person decides to create a blog. Maybe they feel like they have insight into a certain topic or they just enjoying sharing their journey. If you ever thought about starting your own blog but had some doubts I am going to share some reasons why you… YES YOU! should start your blog!

When I first started blogging and heck even now I still have self doubts about it. I am not a good writer and my grammar is trash (I had to autocorrect the word grammar because I apparently can’t even spell right). Often it is not something I even tell me people that I do because I have a fear of being judged and questioned why I do this. I also have a fear that I have no idea what I am doing and if I am even doing this correct. Who will even care to read this? There are thousands of bloggers out there and who cares about me? Do I have a voice that anybody wants to hear?

So why do I blog? Because I enjoy it! It is a creative outlet for me and a way for me to share the things that I love with others! Even if nobody reads my blog well then I have my own little journal! I blog in hopes to inspire others! While blogging I am building a community, building confidence in myself, improving my writing skills, being more creative and hopefully developing future opportunities. I would love to eventually make an income but that is not a main goal of this blog.

So, if you ever thought about creating your own blog here are some reason why you should start today!

  1. You will become more confident
Blogging has helped me improve my confidence. Putting myself out there and sharing my voice has shown me I am important and I have something to share. You also are very important and have something to share. You are unique and have important information that can serve others.
  2. Gives you a creative outlet
Blogging gives you a creative outlet to share your thoughts, passions and ideas. You can share anything you want and how you want. You are your own boss.
  3. Make extra cash
I was hesitant to put this one in here but opted to add it. I was hesitant because I do not make any money off this blog but if you are successful you can make money. I am no expert on how to make money blogging and I do not recommend starting a blog with money as the goal.
  4. Build a community
You will get the opportunity to meet other blogger and become apart of a community. It is a great way to make new friends and meet like minded people.
  5. You can help other people
Maybe you have a specific skill or knowledge that you can share with others. Maybe you have been through a tough situation and what to help others who may be going through the same. Either way we all have a story and can help others.
  6. Challenge Yourself
Blogging take works, creativity and time. It can be challenging and there is so much to learn. As a blogger, you will need to learn different skills but these skills are invaluable. You will be surprised how inspired and passionate you can become when you are doing something that pushes you.
  7. Improve your writing skills
The more you do something the better you will become at it. I am not a good writer by any means. In college I would sit there for hours just trying to write up a paragraph but it is different with blogging. I can type forever and while my grammar might be horrible with time it will improve.
  8. Makes you become self-motivated
You are your own boss. Put how much effort and time into your blog as you want. You call all the shots and make all the decisions. While I do this in my free time blogging has taught me to make goals, manage my time better and improved my productivity.
  9. Learn new skills
When you blog you are the writer, editor, photographer, designer, financer and marketer. That is a lot of roles to fill and learn. This can be daunting and overwhelming but it makes you learn a lot and quickly.
  10. It is fun
Last but not least I find blogging fun. It has its good days and bad days and can be frustrating trying to get your content noticed but it is fun coming up with topics and creating the content. You are in charge of what you want to do and how you want to do it. Make it fun!

It’s a great place to go to hear other people’s views and opinions and get the creativity lowdown on what’s popular and current.

I have issues with grammar too idk if it makes it annoying to read a post with grammar errors though

I personally do not find it annoying at all because I am there to read the post not to judge the grammar. I do not even notice it.

Thanks so much. I should use grammerly. I used it in college but I will admit I am a little lazy when it comes to it now.

I’ve started my blog this year, I have a full time job and I totally agree with you! Despite the difficulties of being a blogger, the most important is to enjoy it. I love the freedom and happiness that I feel when writing a post! Also, it has helped since English is my second language!
